Charles Fridge
Chairman and CEO
Mr. Fridge is a seasoned energy executive with 30 years of business management and legal experience. Throughout his career, Mr. Fridge has founded and managed a variety of Midstream and Upstream Oil & Gas companies with a continual emphasis on business profitability. Mr. Fridge oversees and manages the project identification, development and operational teams at Verde.
Mr. Fridge specializes in origination of Verde’s projects, business management, capital allocation, asset profitability, private partnership structuring and tax equity agreements.
Jon M. Grimmer II P.E.
President
Mr. Grimmer has 20 years of experience in the Energy industry as a Private Equity investment professional, investment banker and petroleum engineer. Before joining Throne, Mr. Grimmer was a deal team member of Quantum Energy Partners involved in the deployment of several billion dollars of capital within the Energy industry. Mr. Grimmer specializes in transaction diligence, subsurface characterization, and business profitability optimization.
Mr. Grimmer started his career at ExxonMobil. He holds an Engineering degree from Purdue University and is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Texas.
Kimberly Doupe
Executive Vice President - Geoscience
Kimberly leads all geoscience efforts at Verde. Kimberly specializes in stratigraphy, petrophysics, fault characterization and geophysics. Kimberly has a robust experience in numerous US basin with a deep knowledge of the Gulf Coast and Rockies regions. Before joining Verde, Kimberly spent 15 years at Hilcorp as an exploration, exploitation and operational geologist.
Frank Willoughby
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Willoughby began his career in 1988 with KPMG Peat Marwick, where he worked in the audit department and was focused primarily on the banking and energy industries. In 1992, Mr. Willoughby transitioned out of public accounting and moved directly into the energy industry. Over time, he held various financial and executive level positions for both private and public energy companies including CEO, CFO, Vice President of Financial Planning, Treasurer and Controller. Throughout his career, Mr. Willoughby has raised over $1 billion in private and public financings including senior debt, second lien debt, public bonds, private & public equity, 3 public mergers and an IPO, Mr. Willoughby graduated from Louisiana State University in 1988 with a BS in accounting and passed the Certified Public Accountants exam in 1992.
Sara M. Patterson, CPA
Executive Vice President - Finance
Ms. Patterson has over 23 years of financial analysis, accounting, auditing, tax, reporting, and government regulation experience in both private and public entities. Additionally, Ms. Patterson has experience in mergers, acquisitions, business sales, due diligence, bankruptcy, and fresh start accounting of multiple private and public entities. Before joining Verde, Ms. Patterson held positions with Throne Petroleum and PricewaterhouseCoopers. She received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Indiana State University and is a Certified Public Accountant in Indiana and Texas.
James Anhaiser
Senior Vice President - Engineering and Technical
Mr. Anhaiser is an oil & gas engineer with 30 years of experience in operations, regulatory, environmental and reservoir performance. Mr. Anhaiser was an early member of Hilcorp Energy and helped the company experience immense growth through a multitude of acquisitions, project development activities, and field optimization.
Mr. Anhaiser specializes in Oil & Gas operational efficiency improvements and regulatory/environmental management. Mr. Anhaiser holds B.S. from Louisiana State University and an MBA from University of Houston.
Matthew Turlak
Senior Vice President - Drilling and Operations
Mr. Turlak is a drilling engineer with over 26 years of experience in drilling operations, project management, and regulatory compliance both onshore and offshore. He joined Verde CO2 in 2022, and his work includes the preparation of new and existing wellbore construction design for all of Verde’s carbon capture and sequestration projects in Louisiana and Texas, budget preparation, and ensuring federal and state regulatory compliance.
Prior to his work at Verde, Mr. Turlak worked as a drilling engineer for Mack Energy Company, Moncla Workover, Crown Drilling, Ocean Energy/Devon Energy, and ExxonMobil Development Company. He also served as an engineer for Diamond Offshore Drilling, executing the drilling of two international turnkey wells off the coast of West Africa. Mr. Turlak holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University.
Nikhil Joshi
Chief Technology Officer
Mr. Joshi is an innovator who successfully deployed new technologies at a commercial scale in the upstream oil and gas sector. Most recently, he led the growth of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) for Talos Energy and invested 15 years at Anadarko serving various positions in management and as a subject matter expert, including Enhanced Oil Recovery. Mr. Joshi spent the formative part of his career at Schlumberger in the fields of phase behavior and multiphase flow.
He has co-authored over 50 technical papers, holds a BS and MS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston, and has a Master’s in Finance from Harvard’s Extension School.
April Coker
Vice President of Geosciences
Ms. Coker is a geologist with over 25 years of experience in the energy industry. She has been in roles from development and exploration geology to project management. Her experience includes operations, geologic modeling, and petrophysics, and she is a waterflood specialist in EOR projects. Ms. Coker has worked in various basins in the US, with a primary focus on the Permian Basin and central Texas. She received a Bachelor of Science from Texas A & M -Corpus Christi and a Master of Geology from the University of Texas – Permian Basin.
Joe Downing
Geologist
Mr. Downing is an oil and gas exploration and development geoscientist with 15 years of industry experience. He began his early career with Crawford Hughes Energy and Hilcorp Energy as a geoscience technician. During his tenure with Hilcorp and upon completion of his undergraduate studies at the University of Houston-Downtown, Mr. Downing transitioned into the role of geologist. Mr. Downing comes to Verde from Whitney Oil & Gas, where he spent the last five years working South Louisiana assets.
Mr. Downing has spent his entire career working in Gulf Coast geology and has extensive knowledge of the subsurface in the region. He brings a wealth of geotechnical and geoscience experience to the Verde team.
